2012 F150 Eco
The instructions were poor so I did some modifications Tools needed: Pliers, stubby phillips, 2 putty knifes * don't need 2" Flange brackets in kit.
1. Fold over both small metal 8 U-Clip nuts so protrusion is on the inside of the fold.
2. Inspect grille insert bumper opening area. You'll notice two slots at the bottom of the insert area and at the upper portion there are two metal tabs with square holes. Those square holes is where the 8 U-Clip nuts will need to go.
3. Open hood and insert 8 U-Clip nuts over metal tabs with square holes that were noted in upper insert area. Insert 8 U-Clips so protrusion points down into square hole. This will help the clip stay in place and provide for better tightening. Pinch down 8 U-Clip nuts with pliers to help ensure they stay in place.
4. Insert grille by tilting into bumper opening inserting the lower grille tabs into the slots at the bottom of the bumper opening.
5. Take both putty knifes and insert one each between horizontal upper grille tabs with screw hole and bumper opening. This is to allow you to push the grille into place without scratching your bumper.
6. After pushing grille into place pull out putty knifes and by reaching thru hood opening insert screws from the bottom up thru the grille and into the 8 U-Clip nuts. Tighten using a stubby Phillips.
7. Close hood and admire work.
