BumpShox XL - Front Car Bumper Protection, Ultimate Front Bumper Guard. Front Bumper Protection License Plate Frame. Tougher Than Steel !
Product Description
NEW for 2015 the BumpShox XL features a blacked out logo for a stealth appearance and a new military tough surface texture. The BumpShix XL is our biggest and thickest front bumper guard measuring 14 inches wide and 2.25 inches thick, it is noticeably wider and taller than a standard license plate frame. The ornate arches and sharp angles enhance the look of your front bumper, while providing maximum protection from low impact parking bumps.
The BumpShox XL is a replacement license plate frame that doubles as a car bumper protector. It is designed to compliment the sculpted lines of your vehicle while offering bumper protection 24 hours a day, 7 days a week - no need to remove the bumper guard.
To attach the BumpShox XL bumper guard, simply remove the old license plate frame from the vehicle and use the existing (or included) screws to attach.
*** PRODUCT DIMENSIONS ***
14" EXTRA WIDE
8.5" TALL (Total Height With FlexFin)
2.25" THICK
*** SCREWS ARE INCLUDED ***
We include 4 screws, size # 14 x 3/4 inches long with your BumpShox. However, most standard license plate screws will work if you want to use your current screws. The BumpShox may be attached and used with 2 or 4 screws.
Please note that the standard distance between the license mounting holes is 7 inches - center to center. This is standard license plate spacing in the United States, however due to dealership handling, there may be some exceptions. Please measure the distance between mounting holes before ordering.
Note: BumpShox Will Not Work With Some Volvo vehicles because the screws on certain Volvo license plate brackets are integrated directly into the frame and can not be removed.
*** BumpShox is Intended For Use on the Front Bumper Only! It Will Not Fit the Rear Bumper Because the Flex-Fin is too tall ***
CUSTOMER REVIEW

I don't want to give this product a bad review, but I want people to read this. They should know the screw holes in the BumpShox are the standard 7" apart that you see on almost all rear license plate frame in the U.S. However, it seems that screw holes for front bumpers don't have the same standard (or any standard at all, given that they're often tapped by the dealer). Mine are 8.5" apart. Doing a quick survey of the cars on my street (meaning, walking down the street and measuring using a tape measure), front plate screw holes vary between 6.5" and 8.5".
You should measure the distance between your front plate screw holes and be prepared if it's not 7". My plan is to get to the hardware store and buy a thin metal bar, about a half inch wide with holes punched in it every half inch or so. I'll screw that to the bumper with some cushioning behind it, then screw the BumpShox to the bar. I'll update this review once I have a solution worked out.
